Disney, family, love, who could want more? For our final Disney post we have a bride to be with an enchanting engagement story that left her in a blissful blur she will never forget!
The Couple: Kristen & Maverick
So tell us how he proposed!
The proposal was absolutely a dream! We went on a Disneyland vacation with his entire family. I've always loved Disney my entire life! More like an obsession actually.
Our first morning there, we went to take a picture in front of the castle. You always need a castle picture while visiting Disneyland, so I didn't think anything of it. Next thing you know, he is on his knee asking me to marry him. It's all a blur from there! I remember him using my full name, and I remember lots of cheers from his family and other random Disney guests.
I looked to my right, and there were my parents! He had previously asked for my dad's blessing to propose to me, and meanwhile they set up the trip for them as well! That was a magical surprise! Having both of our families together to share this special day, was perfect! We spent a fun day in the park, and that night celebrated our engagement at the Blue Bayou Restaurant (Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant). It was a day I will never forget!
What difficulties have you faced while planning your wedding?
I haven't faced too many difficulties yet regarding the wedding plans. The only major challenge I foresee is our ceremony.
We are planning on having a very intimate sacred religious ceremony. This is something very important to both of us. We just hope our friends and family understand that, and are okay with not being there.
Instead, our reception will be a huge affair for everyone to attend!
What advice would you give to other brides-to-be?
The best advice I can give other brides to be, is to just ENJOY your engagement! If possible, give yourself a year from proposal to the actual wedding. Being engaged is the best time of your life, so make the most of it!
Give yourself time to plan your wedding without being rushed and overly stressed. I've noticed, only being engaged less than two weeks, that everyone wants to know every detail. When, where, dress, bridesmaids, etc. Everyone is overly happy and can't wait for your special day! However, that can add to the stress of wanting to rush to get things done. Try to make the most of this special time in your life!
Best wishes to Kristen and Maverick for their future wedding!
A big thanks to all of the girls who participated in the Disney Bummed Bride Bling!
